I’ve been reading a couple books set in the 1800’s and there is so much dancing!! It hit me today that for so long, much of the world had regular social dancing in some way. I wish that we in the US still did!
Love this. I was a ballroom dancer when I was in my twenties… but more fun than that when I lived in Scotland we had regular ceilidh’s to attend (and had one at my wedding). Less English Country Dancing and more flying high, well won bruises and pink cheeks. This is something we sorely miss, I think.
Absolutely! As I’ve gotten older, I have wanted to dance so much more. There is a dance party in my city for millennials that ends at 10 pm and I just got tickets lol
This is great! I started dancing with my church’s liturgical dance team as a child, and I continue as an adult with the church I currently attend. There is beauty in dance, and I agree that we should definitely aim to have more low stakes social dancing.
I agree with all of this! I did social ballroom dance in (homeschool) high school and loved it. The homeschoolers are doing a lot in the social dancing scene. Unfortunately, that crowd can be a bit... different. I've tried to go to other ballroom dance events in my city, but they're primarily attended by much older folks, which is great for them, but I feel uncomfortable dancing with old men. Alas, ballroom dance is a hard sell to the 20s crowd, especially men. I wish formal dancing would come back!

Dancing is rhythm, that rhythm moves your soul. That's where life begins.
Yes girl! My friends and I go dancing almost every month.
